How to Fly in Iron Man Reimagined

Momentum first, buttons second. This is why Mark 2 feels heavy and Mark 85 does not.

How to Fly

Flying is the whole pitch of Iron Man Reimagined, and it is also the first wall. The controls table tells you F, B, C, and Shift. This page tells you why mashing those keys still slams you into a tower. Read Getting Started if you have not called a suit. Come here when the suit is on and the city is a blur.

Hover versus full flight

F toggles flight mode. You do not instantly become a missile. Cheap chassis want a forward vector before they feel light. Look slightly up, hold movement, then add B. B without airspeed is a loud shrug. Shift is contextual extra — it is not a second supersonic. C dashes sideways; use it to miss a spire, not as a cruise button.

Endosym and Mark 85 laugh at this because their base speed already sits near 600 studs per second and their boost can punch past 1,000. That is Nanotech money. On a free suit you are learning drag. That is intended. The free-suit tier exists so you pick a chassis that matches the lesson.

Why you feel slow

Deltia’s FAQ is blunt: some suits are slower, Endosym and Mark 85 go over 600, press B. If you are still crawling, you are probably in Mark 2, Scavver jetpack-only, or a War Machine that traded speed for guns. Check the HUD velocity. If the number never climbs, you are not in boost, you are in a brick. Swap via Q rather than blaming the server.

War Machine’s December 2025 audio pass also removed some supersonic on that chassis while raising base flight. If B died after an update, it is not your keyboard. Confirm on the changelog and the War Machine page.

Sentry while you fly

M (current table) parks the armor and lets you remote it. That is how some players cheese Venus with Mark 39 — the body stays in a mode that still climbs. Details live on how to go to space. On Earth, sentry is for guarding a roof while you loot a crash. Do not sentry in the middle of a 50-player brawl unless you like watching your empty shell get farmed.

Crashes and repairs

Hitting a building shears parts. Free suits want a full recast: N or X, then Q. Nanotech can shuttle nanobots from healthy plates onto broken ones (T on the live pass notes). If you are not on the pass, do not stand in the street tinkering. Recast from cover. The suit compare tool flags which chassis even have a repair verb.

Practice over the water, not over spawn. When hover is boring, you are ready for altitude. Until then, keep the cheat sheet visible and ignore any script that promises a fly hack — the scripts hub will not make a Mark 2 into Endosym.

Water practice

The bay and the river are the only lanes where a Mark 2 can stall without feeding a 50-player spawn camp. Hold a straight hover about two meters above the surface until the HUD speed ticks, then add B. Three laps are enough: hover only, hover plus C around a pier, then a B burst you cancel before the far bank. Rooftop training turns every stall into a recast in traffic. When those laps are boring, you have the muscle memory the space climb assumes.

HUD velocity

The number on the HUD is the only argument that matters when someone says the server is lagging. If it sits under ~80 on a free chassis after five seconds of forward flight, you never entered boost — look slightly up, keep a movement key down, then tap B. If it climbs past 200 and plateaus, you are in that suit’s cruise, not in a broken client. War Machine after the December 2025 audio pass can look stuck because B no longer multiplies the same way; the digit still moves, just not into the 1,000 club. Screenshot the velocity before you file a bug in Discord.

When to swap to Star Boost

Stay in Mark 2 until water laps are dull. Mark 39 Star Boost is the free space chassis, not a better trainer — its climb hides the stall habits you still have. Swap when you can hold a hover, cancel B without eating a tower, and recast without panic. Then take Star Boost for the space page, not for Earth PvP. Buying Nanotech first only makes the same crash happen at 600 studs. Helios, the group exclusive, is a later flex, not a substitute for this lesson.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers drawn from the current live build.

Why doesn't B do anything?

You need airspeed, or you are on a chassis that lost supersonic. Check HUD velocity and the War Machine notes.

What is a good training suit?

Mark 2 or Mark 0. Slow on purpose. See Getting Started.

Can I fly on mobile?

Yes. Use the flight stick and boost tile. Same physics, different HUD. Controls lists the buttons.

When should I leave Mark 2 for Star Boost?

After water laps are boring: stable hover, cancelled B, clean recast. Star Boost is the free space ticket on how to go to space, not an Earth trainer.
